Top 5: Worst Current UFC Nicknames
No one can argue with Belal Muhammad’s achievements, but his nickname leaves a lot to be desired at this stage of his career.

It ranks as one of the worst monikers among current UFC competitors. Here are four more to consider:
Eryk “Ya Boi” Anders
The former University of Alabama linebacker has spent eight-plus years carving out a niche for himself in the UFC’s middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. A former Legacy Fighting Alliance champion, Anders, aka “Ya Boi,” holds victories over Gerald Meerschaert, Kyle Daukaus and Chris Weidman. He saw a modest two-fight winning streak grind to a halt on Aug. 9, when he was victimized by a spinning back elbow and follow-up punches from Christian Leroy Duncan at UFC on ESPN 72. It was just the second knockout loss for Anders—Thiago Santos was responsible for the first in 2018—in his 27-fight career.
Miranda “Fear The” Maverick
An ex-high school wrestler who trains with Elevation Fight Team, “Fear The” Maverick has beaten down a respectable path in the UFC women’s flyweight division and currently carries a No. 11 ranking for the promotion at 125 pounds. Since arriving in the organization in October 2020, Maverick has lost only to Maycee Barber, Jasmine Jasudavicius, Erin Blanchfield and Rose Namajunas. No one has finished her. While creativity may not be a strength—her nickname was purportedly given to her by a former coach—the performances inside the cage more than make up for that perceived weakness.
Kaan “Genghis” Ofli
Low-hanging fruit does not always represent the best route. Ofli takes his nickname after the 13th century Mongol leader who launched a series of military campaigns into China and Central Asia that historians believe may have resulted in the deaths of more than 10% of the world’s population at the time. A 32-year-old Australian with Turkish roots, he sports an 11-4-1 record, including a 0-2 mark in the UFC, so it seems doubtful at best that anyone will remember any of his conquests a thousand years from now, his first name notwithstanding. Ofli will face Ricardo Ramos at UFC Fight Night 261 on Oct. 11 in Rio de Janeiro.
Kiefer “BDK” Crosbie
The SBG Ireland export has yet to establish a foothold in mixed martial arts at the highest levels, as he has lost six of his 10 combined bouts in Bellator MMA and the UFC. Crosbie’s nickname reportedly stands for “Big Daddy Kief,” which seems somewhat harmless on the surface. However, it does dredge up memories of infamous “BTK” serial killer Dennis Rader, who terrorized Wichita, Kansas, for roughly three decades and killed 10 people, including two children. Crosbie, 35, might not remain on the UFC roster much longer. His technical knockout loss to Nueraji Taiyilake at UFC Fight Night 257 on Aug. 23 dropped him to 0-3 in the promotion.
